Barely 48 hours after its opening, a "coffee shop" selling cannabis-derived products lowered the curtain on Wednesday in Bordeaux, and its manager was taken into police custody.
Police said the manager, a 26-year-old young man, was still in police custody Thursday morning for "breaking drug laws," confirming information from South West.
During a search, investigators took several products sold in this coffee shop located in a student and working-class district of central Bordeaux to carry out analyzes. Among other things, you could buy hemp flowers, herbal teas or cannabidiol (CBD) electronic cigarette refills. With a level of less than 0,2% of THC, the psychotropic component of cannabis, these products are supposed to be authorized by law.
In recent weeks, the police have stepped up searches of establishments that market CBD products, throughout France. Indeed, coffee shops benefit legal vagueness which allows CBD as long as the THC content of the product does not exceed 0,2%.
The 17 last June, the Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, promised a clarification of the law but still it would have to be at the level in a file that it does not really seem to be in control.
