Since Aiduce's meeting at the HCSP (High Council for Public Health) for a hearing this Thursday morning, we were impatiently awaiting a return. The association has this morning made a press release that we are offering you in its entirety in order to give its feelings about the event.
“The Aiduce was received on January 21 by the High Council of Public Health (HCSP) alongside other organizations such as the National Institute of Consumption, the Non-Smoking Law association, the National Center Against Smoking , Le Monde, and INPES, and with the participation of public health experts, in order to present and support its point of view on e-cigarettes.
This hearing represented a rich and lively first exchange, which we hope will evolve into a dialogue. We are happy to have been listened to, to present the vape as we know it and to practice it, and to denounce the imaginary conception of an electronic cigarette that would lead to smoking, dissuade smokers from quitting, emit strange and unknown substances , and would be confused with the tobacco cigarette.
We have taken into account the concerns of these men and women who fought against smoking with results not always as satisfactory as they would have liked until the arrival of the vape. For our part, we are convinced of bringing a new and effective solution to their struggle, while defending our rights as consumers and citizens.
We therefore hope to be able to continue to explain what the vape really is, and how it proposes to move from a coercive approach to a trust-based approach, and a war against smokers towards responsible and informed citizen choice. .
We were also pleased to see that many participants shared our concerns about product quality, manufacturers' warranty, transparency and readability from health authorities and the media. So many concerns that have been left out by the recent health law.
Certainly our readings still differ in many ways. On the perception of the difference vapoteur / smoker children or animals know yet well done, on the fact that the vapoteurs became for many of them nonsmokers, having to benefit like such from the same rights to the protection against the smoking, the critical importance of respect and informed judgment as opposed to coercion, and the danger of focus on the fight against smoking, at the risk of maintaining in it many potential candidates to choose a much healthier alternative.
We are therefore waiting, with the same impatience as yours, to know if the French authorities will give themselves in the coming weeks the means to avoid the fatal consequences of the daily crash of a full plane of smokers, or if they prefer to give up and assist arms dangling in the face of the unbearable risk of disrupting the flight plan.
