« The AIDUCE, having taken cognizance of the interim suspension introduced before the Council of State 3 last October by the five associations having filed an appeal on the merits the 21 July in order to obtain the cancellation of the article 1 ° of the 19 order may 2016, also learned today by press release that these associations were withdrawing their appeals.
The Directorate General of Health has indeed wished to meet urgently the applicants, and invite them to withdraw these remedies in exchange for commitments to participate in the revision of a ministerial circular on the framing of advertising for electronic devices vaping. AIDUCE naturally hopes very strongly that vapers, consumers as a whole, associations, doctors or scientists, can continue to have access to information and do not expose themselves to criminal or civil sanctions for having emphasized the potential of the electronic cigarette, particularly in reducing the risks associated with smoking.
AIDUCE intends to participate in the revision of the ministerial circular alongside the associations to which it offers its support and expertise. It will monitor the progress of the negotiations with great vigilance, hoping very strongly that the resulting ministerial opinion will be widely publicized, and that support will be sought and displayed by the government authorities, and will be accompanied by a less ambiguous speech about the largely imaginary dangers wrongly attributed to the electronic cigarette. This is to remove vapers, doctors and scientists, the risks that the regrettable errors that have governed the decisions on vaping in France for the past two years are now hovering over them.
On this occasion, AIDUCE recalls that it does not reduce the vape to a single risk-reduction tool but considers that it must remain a general consumer product.
Lastly, and in order to also show its material solidarity with the associations that had until now brought the appeals, the AIDUCE made the decision to leave SOVAPE with the debt it held on it, in order to contribute to the expenses made necessary by its action. »
