A few days after the public hearing on risk reduction which took place at the Ministry of Health, L'AIDUCE offers us its feedback and returns to the presentation made by its president, Brice Lepoutre.
“On April 8, 2016, Brice Lepoutre represented the Aiduce during the public hearing on risk and damage reduction, organized by the Addiction Federation, with the support of the General Directorate of Health and the Mildeca (Interministerial Mission for the fight against drugs and addictive behavior).
These two days provided an overview of the subject, far beyond just the electronic cigarette or smoking, covering in depth many aspects with an updated vision and the expression of many leading professionals.
Aiduce submitted a report for its presentation and answered the question:
How to enable users and their associations to play a leading role in the definition and application of Risk and Damage Reduction strategies?
This report provided an opportunity to take stock of the situation in a working document that we present to you today. From this document, we have drawn the conclusions the report submitted for the public hearing.
Our speech is simple :
Vapoter is not smoking, it is not necessary that the amalgam is maintained within the population to allow a massive adhesion of smokers to the vape, alternative less harmful. But for this to happen, there needs to be clear political and public health commitment.
We were able to pass on our point of view and were praised for the quality of our report despite the difficulty of the exercise for an association of users and not doctors, a tight schedule to respect during presentations.
Other speakers also dealt with electronic cigarettes: Jacques Le Houezec and Dr Anne Borgne, allowing us to support even more the great tool of risk reduction that is the vape.
