GERMANY: A very liberal approach to e-cigarettes!

Would Germany be the ideal country to live with its electronic cigarette? In an article proposed by our colleagues from Global Handelsblatt, a political analyst says the German government has a surprisingly lax stance on vaping legislation and this is the ideal approach!

GERMANY? A COUNTRY WHERE IT IS GOOD TO USE THE E-CIGARETTE!

They are everywhere and increasingly invading the streets, parks and station platforms of Berlin and other cities in Germany, it is electronic cigarettes that help many smokers to quit. According to a German political analyst, the government has a rather lax position on the legislation of this harm reduction tool but it is according to him the right approach.

If you see more vapers in Germany than in some other countries, it may be because Germany is one of the countries that takes the most permissive regulatory approach to vaping. According to the Nanny State index of the Institute of Economic Affairs in London there are other countries with a liberal approach to e-cigarettes such as Sweden, Great Britain and the Czech Republic.

In Germany there are no regulations on vaping in public places, no special taxes on products or rules on cross-border sales. The only known restrictions relate to advertising.

In contrast, the most restrictive countries when it comes to nicotine substitution are Finland and Hungary, which impose and heavily regulate use in public places. The European Union itself has also started to examine rules to tighten vaping.

Obviously, even in liberal Germany, not everyone agrees with the permissive attitude of the authorities regarding vaping. The most alarmists speak regularly fromthe vape epidemic". Others claim that the e-cigarette is a "gateway to smoking».

Regarding scientists, they have a much more positive view of vaping. Yes, electronic cigarettes can contain nicotine which is addictive but if we start from this principle caffeine is also addictive. Regarding nicotine, it does not cause cancer. So by switching from cigarettes to e-cigarettes, vapers dramatically and quickly reduce their exposure to many other harmful toxins in smoke, including known carcinogens.

For the political analyst in question all governments should adopt these products which reduce risk and damage. Electronic cigarettes offer a real alternative to consumers, either to adopt a healthier alternative, or to serve as a bridge to completely quit smoking.

In conclusion, he declares that Germany is right to take a liberal stance on electronic cigarettes and that other countries should follow its example.
