Bad news never comes alone and Belgian vapers unfortunately have to face an increasingly complicated situation. Indeed, the Belgian Union for the Vape (UBV-BDB) has just seen its appeal against the royal decree on e-cigarettes rejected by the Council of State. The mobilization of Belgian vapers and certain media will unfortunately not be enough to move things in the right direction.
A NEW MASSUE BREAK FOR BELGIAN VAPORS!
An interminable wait for crucial issues… In last september, the Belgian Vape Union (UBV) had raised enough funds to seize the Council of State and try to bring down the royal decree on the e-cigarette. Thanks to crowdfunding, the UBV-BDB hired a lawyer to make things happen, unfortunately the return of the Council of State did not live up to the expectations placed.
In an official statement on the social network Facebook, the Belgian Vape Union (UBV) explains that the appeal was dismissed and that the points attacked are even confirmed:
“The guillotine has just fallen.
We have kept hope until the end but the Council of State sends us back to the ropes.
Not only are we unsuccessful, but he confirms that on the points that we have attacked: assimilation to tobacco and online sales,…, the state will be supported by the ersatz justice that eats out of his hand.
For those who believe that nothing has been done, we have been operating in the shadows for over two years. Unfortunately, when we take legal action, we do not report the progress of the case. (…)You will find attached the letter received from our lawyer. For all those who supported us and trusted us, thank you, we couldn't have tried anything without you. We will undoubtedly call on your help one last time to at least liquidate our debts.
The next general assembly will determine with the financial aspect the future of the association. "
