BELGIUM: The Ministry of Health attacks the e-cigarette on social networks.

In Belgium, it is probably a new step which has been taken by the Minister of Health in its fight against vaping. Indeed, recently, some vapers who manage groups and Facebook pages have received warnings straight from the ministry.

THE BELGIAN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH APPLIES ITS PROHIBITION ON VAPE ON SOCIAL NETWORKS.

It therefore seems that the Belgian health ministry has taken on vaping on social networks. According to the facts reported by Belgian vapers, managers and administrators of groups and facebook pages concerning vaping have received warnings from the SPF (Federal Public Service) for non-compliance with theRoyal Decree of 28 October 2016. As a reminder, in Belgium, the advertising or the promotion of the vaping as well as the on-line sale of e-cigarette is prohibited.

Currently, it is mainly Flemings who would be concerned, the first two cases listed are those of the reviewer Dimi "Crazy Damper" Schuermans and Nicky Barra from the band Vape (electronische sigaret) verkopen / ruilen Oost in West Vlaanderen. The SPF accuses them of selling too much on their Facebook pages or groups. Regarding Nicky Barra, she has already announced the closing of her group:

« Chers amis,
I received a warning message from the SPF Public Health telling me that the group was illegal and had to close. I don't have the time or the inclination to know if they can carry out their threats, so this group is going to close in a few days. »

In Belgium, some vapers want a reaction from the community before it is totally forbidden to talk about vaping on social networks.
