CANADA: 75% increase in e-cigarette use among young people

The number of young Canadians who used an e-cigarette jumped 75% in Canada in 2016-2017 compared to the previous year. This is the conclusion of an investigation by Health Canada conducted with 52 000 young people.

AN E-CIGARETTE INVESTIGATION THAT DOESN'T CONCERN THE GOVERNMENT

A recent Health Canada survey of 52 young people concluded that the number of young Canadians who used an e-cigarette jumped 000% in Canada in 75-2016 compared to the previous year.

It shows that 10% of high school youth have used an electronic cigarette in the last 30 days preceding the survey. The United States is in a similar situation. Vaping use increased 78% among 15-18 year olds from 2017 to 2018.

Although the numbers show a worrying trend, the Trudeau government does not pay much attention to this increase. He prefers to rely on the Canadian Survey on Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs conducted among 16 young Canadians in 000.

The study shows that 6,3% of young people between 15 and 19 years old used electronic cigarettes in the last 30 days preceding the survey. The data is the same as in 2015.
