As part of its mission to eliminate cigarette smoking in Canada, JUUL Labs makes 1,5 percent nicotine JUULpods available across the country. JUULpods with five and three percent nicotine by weight are already available.

Health Canada states that " Vape is less harmful than smoking. A recent study, presented by JUUL Labs to the Nicotine and Tobacco Research Society, shows similar reductions in smoking-related biomarkers of exposure in both groups of participants: those who quit smoking and those who quit smoking. who have moved to JUUL. This tells us that nicotine, while addictive, is not directly responsible for the cancers that are commonly associated with cigarette smoking: they are the harmful ingredients in combustible smoke.1

Every adult smoker has a different journey of change, and the options can help them find what works best for them, including variety of flavors and nicotine strength. Two recent behavioral studies based on surveys conducted by CSUR Research & Consultancy show that non-tobacco flavored JUULpods have been most successful in helping smokers change and stay in the game. 2; confirming that the correct flavors are important. We have also heard from smokers that there are some who need different options in terms of nicotine levels. Our diverse line of products help smokers change and sustain that change.
JUUL Labs offers six JUULpod flavors to smokers in Canada: Virginia Tobacco, Mint, Mango, Vanilla, Fruit, and Cucumber. All six flavors are currently available in five, three, and 1,5 percent nicotine strengths at convenience stores, retail stores, and on the JUUL Labs e-commerce site at JUUL .it.
JUUL Labs also takes prevention among young people seriously and has implemented several initiatives designed to prevent young people from accessing vaping products, including :
- Launch of the “What Parents Need to Know” parenting education campaign in Canada to provide more information to parents and keep vaping products away from young people.
- In Quebec, by urging the Quebec government to raise the legal age to 21 years for the purchase and possession of electronic cigarettes and vaping products, to adjust it with the proposed age limit for cannabis. This law would help restrict access for young people by reducing buying and selling to minors.
- Online, using unique age and identity verification technology to ensure minors cannot access and purchase products. An adult signature at the time of delivery is required for all deliveries in Canada. The online age restrictions set by JUUL Labs are stricter than those of the Ontario Cannabis Society.
- All sales partners must ask for ID when selling nicotine products. This year, JUUL Labs launched a secret shopping program to ensure that retailers are compliant and will report those that are not to Health Canada and relevant provincial governments.
- All products are clearly labeled as containing nicotine and the packaging includes a nicotine warning, including a warning sticker (skull and crossbones pictogram) which is described in the Canadian regulations on the packaging of consumer chemicals but which has not yet been applied in the vaping industry. This cautionary illustration is voluntary; Studies by researchers at the University of Waterloo indicate that explicit graphic warning illustrations on packaging are one of the most effective measures to prevent youth adoption of restricted-use products.
- JUUL Labs' contracts with stores and other wholesale customers require them to take several measures to prevent young people from accessing them, including restrictions on wholesale purchases to prevent resale on the black market.
