It is indeed thousands of demonstrators from across Ontario who will meet on Saturday 9 April au Queen 's Park de Toronto to challenge Kathleen Wynne's government decision to include vaping as part of the tobacco control program. The Bill 45 - Schedule 3 which deals with electronic cigarettes mistakenly associates vapor with tobacco, prohibiting the use of e-cigarettes in public spaces, workplaces and as well as designated outdoor spaces. The manifestation of the 9 April is organized by Advocates Vapor who is already protesting since 2015.
« CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS VIOLATED BY THE GOVERNMENT!«
The group " Advocates Vapor » accuses Wynne government of violating constitutional rights of Ontarians who use e-cigarettes for smoking cessation as well as store owners who wish to promote and educate customers on the safe use of vaping related products (through the use of samples inside stores). Advocates Vapor asks the government that vaping be exempted from counterproductive assimilation with tobacco. Since the e-cigarette can not be compared with combustible materials such as tobacco, Wynne stigmatizes the harm reduction strategy proposed by the vape. It is estimated that more 100.000 Canadians have quit with the e-cigarette but the Wynne government forbids owners of e-cigarette companies to promote this risk reduction.
