The Quebec Student Sport Network, in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Services, has launched a youth smoking prevention campaign from 11 to 14.

A “DISGUISHED” AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The goal of the campaign called "yuckyIs to educate young people as soon as possible, to make them develop a critical sense to say no to tobacco products. The Network stresses that the average age of smoking initiation is 13 years.
The campaign is being rolled out on TV, web and social media as well as high schools, up to 22 in May. It combines disgusting images with the action of smoking. Young people can also discover the true facts and consequences of smoking.

The Minister Delegate for Rehabilitation, Youth Protection, Public Health and Healthy Living, Lucie Charlebois, reminded that Quebec wants to reduce to 10% the number of daily and occasional smokers by 2025 and believes that this campaign will certainly help to achieve the goal.
