It is not a surprise that heated tobacco and more particularly IQOS by Philip Morris is very popular in South Korea. To find out more, the country's health authorities launched a study last August, the results will be known very soon.
TOBACCO HEATS HARMFUL? ANSWER THE 13 JUNE NEXT!
South Korean health officials said on Wednesday that they would release the results of an investigation into the potential harmfulness of heated tobacco, also known as "heat not burn", next month.
The Ministry of Food and Pharmaceutical Safety has announced that it will make its announcement before June 13. This survey was launched in August 2017 and concerns three heated tobacco devices: IQOS from Philip Morris Korea Inc., Glo from British American Tobacco and the device from South Korean manufacturer KT & G Corp.
The study in question focused on the amount of chemicals that these devices, such as nicotine and tar, can release. Manufacturers of heated tobacco for their part claimed that their devices produced fewer harmful chemicals than conventional cigarettes.
