STUDY: These 7 scientists who defend the vape!

Too often we are inundated with negative e-cigarette articles and studies. The good news is that vaping has a lot of backing from scientists and health professionals who are ready to stand up for vaping. These brave scientists (as it has to be said) have a lot to lose and most of them could face cuts in funding for their research to provide public support for vaping. This is why their opinions are so important and why these personalities stand out from the rest. We invite you to discover 7 respected scientists and their comments on e-cigarettes and the impact on your health.

PETER HAJEK - WOLFSON INSTITUTE OF PREVENTIVE MEDICINE (UNITED KINGDOM)

« There are currently two competing products in the smoking habit: First, the classic cigarette which endangers users and those around them and recruits new customers among non-smoking children who want to try. And otherwise the e-cigarette, which is safer, poses no risk to those around it and generates much less risk of envy in a non-smoker child.«

LINDA BAULD – ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF THE BRITISH CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF TOBACCO (UNITED KINGDOM)

« Currently, e-cigarettes do not have a license, but the National Institute of Health and the Medicines Regulatory Association recognize that their uses are safer than continuing to smoke. It is not just an opinion, it is an evidence-based statement that is supported by tobacco control organizations in the UK. This doesn't mean that e-cigarettes are safe, but not much is in the end. But we can safely mean that using e-cigarettes is safer than continuing to smoke.."

ROBERT WEST - DIRECTOR OF TOBACCO STUDIES (UNITED KINGDOM)

« We have a huge opportunity here. It would be a shame to let this opportunity slip by being too careful. The e-cigarette is as safe as it can get. Nicotine is not what kills you when you use tobacco. Using an e-cigarette is almost as safe as drinking coffee. All it contains is steam with nicotine, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and water. »

LYNN KOZLOWSKI - RESEARCHER AT THE RESEARCH FONDATION ADDICTION (CANADA)

« Smokers should try e-cigarettes as a complete replacement for cigarettes. The goal is to quit smoking forever and use the e-cigarette for as long as needed. Electronic cigarettes are much safer than using tobacco. We don't have to wait for clinical trials to find out that a large rock that falls on a person is much more dangerous than a small rock. Compared to cigarettes, e-cigarettes have obvious reduced risks. The levels of toxins are much lower in the e-cigarette, it is easy to be less dangerous than cigarettes which are carcinogenic. »

JEAN FRANCOIS ETTER - PROFESSOR OF PUBLIC HEALTH AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GENEVA (SWITZERLAND)

« Even if there are long term vapers, it is okay as long as they quit. The problem lies in the combustion of tobacco, not in the nicotine. Whether it is electronic cigarettes, gums or patches, nicotine is not dosed in a toxic way. Long-term vaping is not a public health concern, nor is the prolonged use of nicotine gum. »

BERTRAND DAUTZENBERG - PNEUMOLOGIST AT THE HOSPITAL DE LA PITIÉ SALPÊTRIÈRE (FRANCE)

« Take your time, don't stress. Vape without pressure for the first few months. And above all, even if you settle into vaping, never forget one thing: the danger of tobacco is a thousand times greater than that of e-cigarettes. A year of vaping is less dangerous than a day of tobacco. »

KONSTANTINOS FARSALINOS - RESEARCHER AT THE ONASSIS CARDIAC SURGERY CENTER (GREECE)

« Vaping is not harmful to the heart, Electronic cigarettes are considerably less harmful than tobacco and it is legitimate for consumers to defend their rights to vape"
