E-CIG SHOW: BOYCOTT ORGANIZED?

E-CIG SHOW: BOYCOTT ORGANIZED?

Let it be said, there is no question of ignoring what happened at the E-cig show. Very few people debate the subject as if nothing had happened but the E-cig show that hosted more than 20 000 people during the first edition must be very far for this second edition. The goal is not to take a stick to go and stir up the shit, or even to take sides with anyone, but it seems important to try to understand how this living room could have been so deserted. The E-cig show Was he the victim of a stroke of fate or rather of a premeditated boycott?

A 2014 EDITION THAT WAS A SUCCESS, AND IN 2015, A DISASTER ...

Surprising to see the 2 th edition of the E-cig show welcome so few people when you see the enthusiasm that the first had aroused, more than 20 000 visits against 6400 for the Vapexpo for example. Even though the 2014 E-cig show wasn't perfect, many agreed that it was encouraging for a start. And then the 2015 edition, many vapers were expecting an improved lounge compared to last year and it was a complete disappointment for most. A bad surprise? Not that much finally ...

E-CIG SHOW: NEWS PLAYED A ROLE IN THE NUMBER OF EXHIBITORS.

At this level, there is no doubt, The E-cig show has not had any luck ... The latest events in France, the attacks on Charlie Hebdo a priori cooled some of the foreign exhibitors who had reserved stands. It must also have had an impact on the number of foreign visitors willing to make the trip to the show. It remains nevertheless, strange, that they all canceled their presence at the last moment for a show that has been preparing for months. There is clearly in this context a lack of organization and especially of anticipation of the organizers of the E-cig show.

E-CIG SHOW: VICTIM OF AN ORGANIZED BOYCOTT?

Obviously, this is the central point of the subject, is the E-cig show was the victim of an organized boycott? Because, as much we can explain the absence of exhibitors and foreign visitors as the French were not much more to go. The 1st edition had already aroused some criticism and some boycotts on the fact that the organizer was a businessman who organized golf shows but despite this the public and the exhibitors were there. We must believe that the success of the first edition must not have appealed to some people, given that the boycott, in fact took place on the second edition, most of the big e-cigarette shops and e-liquid brands French were absent subscribers. The goal was clearly to erase this show from the list of events in France, probably more for an economic war than an ideological war for that matter. But by participating in a boycott to kill the E-cig show, these businesses and manufacturers, are they not especially shooting themselves in the foot?

THE BOYCOTT OF A VAPE SALON: A REAL RETREAT IN IDEOLOGY

Obviously, having arrived at these lines, some will start to say that we are suing, that we are trying to divide, but it is, in fact, quite the opposite. It might be time for everyone to realize the issues that are in place, we are not talking about economic issues although currently, and more and more, it is money that directs the vaping but d 'ideological issues. A living room like E-cig show or like all others, can bring more 20 000 visitors including many curious people who will then go to the e-cig and talk about it around them, with what image of the vape does a visitor who went to a salon that has been boycotted? Clearly, he will go straight back to the local tobacco shop to buy his killer packet… Ideologically and economically, boycotting a salon is a concept that is damaging vaping. After whatever the reasons, currently the world of e-cigs must already fight against disinformation, TPD, tax projects So if we start to sabotage the little support that we have, it is as much to say that in a short time not only there will be no more salon but also no more vaping. What remains damaging is that this subject has not been dealt with in a public way in order to avoid this blunder which, in the end, hurts everyone, vapers and professionals.

A NEW SHOW FOR MARCH! WHAT SOLUTIONS FOR THE FUTURE?

To our greatest astonishment, a new salon has appeared recently, the E-cigarette lounge which looks like E-cig Show and which will also take place at Porte de Versailles in March. We will come back to this in another article but it is a good initiative, especially since this one will devote the 3 days to the general public. Now there is very probably room for many other vaping salons without necessarily competition or boycott, but it might be time to relocate them all over France. Not all vapers in France are Parisians and salons in big cities like Lyon and Marseille would be highly appreciated by many people and would also allow a turnover at the exhibitor level. In any case, a big congratulations to all the exhibitors who made the trip to the E-cig show and who probably avoided that some curious smokers do not leave disappointed by the e-cig.
