Is it really a surprise? Ferrari Formula 1 team reportedly set to sign new sponsorship deal with IQOS, the heated tobacco arm of Philip Morris.
AFTER MARLBORO, FERRARI ON THE POINT TO PUT FORWARD IQOS
Here is a news that may spill some ink over the next few days. Ferrari would be about to announce a new major sponsor. The Scuderia still retains Philip Morris's hidden support through Marlboro, Ferrari's now-historic partner in Formula 1.
But Santander has decided to leave Ferrari and the F1 and to replace him, the Italian team would be about to sign with a heated tobacco company, IQOS.
Launched by Philip Morris, the IQOS brand develops cigarettes that do not contain liquid, unlike electronic cigarettes, but tobacco heated at very high temperatures, which however may put the team in the radar legislation that prohibits tobacco sponsors.
« Ferrari completes agreement with Iqos to replace current one with Santander« wrote the Spanish newspaper ABC, seeming to confirm this information.
