In certain territories of the United States, the sale and use of vaping products containing cannabis (THC or CBD) is authorized. Yet it is a real sledgehammer that could reach professionals in the sector in the state of Oregon. The OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) wants to ban the use of aromas in cannabis vaporizers.
ONE CANNABIS AROMA, TOWARDS A BAN ON OTHERS!
It is a lucrative market that could well suffer in the coming weeks, that of cannabis vape. Indeed, OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) wants to prevent manufacturers from mixing THC products with any additive that has not been shown to be safe to inhale. It would nevertheless be allowed to add ingredients derived from cannabis, such as aromatic terpenes and cannabinoids, for a natural flavor.
For the manager of the company Sublime Solutions distilling the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, THC, that would be a real disaster. He explains that it was devastating for his business last year when the Governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, banned flavored vape products. "I lost 70% of my income overnight", did he declare.
If this ban was quickly overturned by the courts, the problem is now back. The Oregon Alcohol Control Commission is proposing a more limited flavor and additive ban focused only on THC vaping products. For the OLCC, the THC vape can taste like cannabis, but that stops there!
