USA: More electronic cigarette before 21 years in Florida?

In the state of Florida in the United States, a bill could well change the legal age for purchasing vaping products. If this were adopted, the age limit would drop from the current 18 to 21.

AN INCREASED AGE LIMIT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TOBACCO AND VAPING PRODUCTS!

Next year, Florida lawmakers will consider a bill that proposes to increase the legal age limit from 18 to 21 for purchasing tobacco or vaping products. David Simmons, the Republican Senator who represents the counties of Volusia and Seminole introduced the BS 1288 also known as the “Tobacco Act”.

This new bill would prevent the sale of cigarettes, tobacco products, devices and vaping products to anyone under the age of 21. Anyone who sells or gives these products to someone under the age of 21 would be subject to a fine of up to $ 500. In the event of a repeat offense, the following fine could reach $ 1000.

WORK OF GENERAL INTERESTS FOR CHEATERS!

But it is not just the sellers who would be punished for failing to comply with this regulation. Anyone under the age of 21 who misrepresents their age to obtain tobacco or vaping products may be forced to perform at least 20 hours of community service. In the event of a repeat offense in the current year, the penalty may go up to 40 hours.

The bill defines vaping products specifically:

« It is a device which can be used to administer aerosolized or vaporized nicotine to a person… An e-cigarette, an e-cigar, an e-pipe, a cigalike or even an e-hookah. »

If the legislators were to approve this bill, the new law BS 1288 could come into force on October 1, 2018.
