UNITED STATES: A mandatory fee to sell e-cigarettes in California.

Following the numerous regulations on vaping, since January 1, 2017, in order to sell a vaping device in the state of California in the United States, it is mandatory to obtain a license which is on the one hand paid and 'other registered share.

AN ANNUAL FEE OF 265 DOLLARS TO SELL THE VAPE

In order to sell an e-cigarette or vape equipment, suppliers based in the state of California must now pay an annual fee of 265 $. These fees must be paid at each location established by the company, if a company has for example 20 shops, it will be necessary to pay 20 times the royalty.

This law, which took effect on January 1, stems from a bill adopted in May and designed to put e-cigarettes under the same regulations as tobacco. Health officials say laws are needed to prevent unauthorized sales of all tobacco-related products, especially to minors.

The new regulations also prevent e-cigarette stores from opening within 500 meters of a school or playground. As a reminder, health officials in the state of California are particularly concerned with young people claiming that e-cigarettes are a gateway to smoking and could cause health problems for children in the long term. California has also increased the legal age for the purchase of tobacco products including e-cigarettes from June 2016 to 21 years.
