This new study led by theEuropean independent vaping alliance (EVAI) brings a real halt to the theory of the bridge effect between e-cigarettes and smoking. Indeed, this survey, which counted more than 3300 participants brings a clear result: With the e-cigarette, 80% of vapers have completely stopped smoking !

VAPE, A WIDELY USED METHOD TO END TOBACCO!

Over 80% of smokers who switched to e-cigarettes have quit smoking altogether, about 65% of vapers in Europe use fruity or sweet e-liquids. These are two important findings of a survey conducted by theEuropean independent vaping alliance (IEVA) in which more than 3300 European users participated.

The European survey shows that vaping is a method widely used in Europe to stop smoking. 81% of vapers have completely quit smoking. An additional 12% reduced smoking thanks to e-cigarettes.

86% of participants think that e-cigarettes are less harmful to them than smoking. Only 2% believe that e-cigarettes are as much or more harmful than combustible cigarettes. British government agency Public Health England estimates since 2015 that e-cigarettes are at least 95% less harmful than smoking.

The variety of flavors seems to be one of the most important reasons for vapers to use e-cigarettes. 40% of them use fruit flavored e-liquids and 25% prefer other sweet flavors. A good third of vapers prefer tobacco e-liquids (35%).

The IEVA asked participants how they would react if flavors for vaping, except tobacco flavors, were banned.
Result : only 20% of e-cigarette users would switch to tobacco flavors.

Other negative effects of a potential flavor ban, 31% said they would buy on the black market. Worse still, 9% say they would even start smoking again.

Dustin Dahlman, president of IEVA declares: " Our survey confirms previous research that e-cigarette flavors are essential for adult smokers. A ban on flavors should be avoided at all costs, as it would lead many vapers to buy unregulated products on the black market or start smoking again. And it would endanger the great opportunity that many more smokers quit with the help of e-cigarettes. "
