While a tax on electronic cigarettes hovers over Europe, 16 user and risk reduction associations call for signing a petition and participating in the European public consultation on the taxation of tobacco and open vaping until September 3.
16 USER ASSOCIATIONS LAUNCH AN APPEAL TO EUROPEAN STEAMERS!
In its press release, the association SOVAPE says:
The vape has enabled more than 7,5 millions of Europeans to break free from smoking and 9 millions to reduce their cigarette consumption.
Vaping produces no smoke, no carbon monoxide, no tars: vaping reduces health damage by at least 95% compared to smoking cigarettes. No punitive surtax is justifiable against a consumer product which is not a tobacco product and which massively reduces damage to health compared to smoked tobacco.
A harmonization project should consider ban all excise on vaping in the European Union.
We call on all those concerned with public health and those who hold the right to protect their own health, to sign the petition and to respond to the European Commission's public consultation on the taxation of tobacco products and vaping.
