We must believe that we had not had our dose today with the application of the European directive on tobacco, suddenly here is a report of the commission to the European Parliament and the Council on the potential risks to public health associated with the use of rechargeable electronic cigarettes.
POTENTIAL RISKS TO PUBLIC HEALTH
The Commission has identified four main risks related to the use of rechargeable electronic cigarettes, namely:
1) intoxication by ingestion of e-liquids containing nicotine (especially in young children),
2) skin reactions following contact of the skin with e-liquids containing nicotine and other irritants,
3) the risks associated with "homemade" blends
4) risks arising from the use of untested combinations of e-liquids and devices or the personalization of equipment.
If we skip the first risk which may remain "logical" even if in this case it would also be necessary to question all household products sold freely in supermarkets, we realize that the overall idea is to question everything that actually vaping today. The “DIY” (Do it Yourself) and the customizable material would therefore be potential risks for public health… It is quite obvious that with their presence it will be very complicated to put forward the famous “cigalikes” and their sealed cartridges.
WHAT A SHAME…
Obviously, the interest now is to go into a little more detail of this famous report in order to see the arguments that are proposed. And again, there is reason to wonder what planet we are on ...
« To prepare their own blends, users must purchase highly concentrated nicotine. E-liquids are for example sold in bottles of 50ml containing 72mg / ml of nicotine (3,6g of nicotine per bottle). As noted above, there are risks to users and others if high levels of liquid nicotine are stored at home and handled improperly. Consumers may also not dilute the solution properly and eventually obtain e-liquids with much higher levels of nicotine than expected. »
« In order to mitigate the risks of homemade blends or the customization of e-liquids, Member States should ensure that manufacturers and importers respect the nicotine concentration limits set by the Tobacco Products Directive. The Directive prohibits e-liquids with nicotine levels greater than 20mg / ml or packaged in refill containers larger than 10ml." Here is how, with some erroneous examples, you are prohibited from "DIY" (Do it Yourself) and bottles of more than 10 ml. (What is the percentage of vapers who insert nicotine with bottles of 50ml at 72mg / ml?)
- Use of e-liquids in untested devices and hardware customization
Finally, the use of untested or unsuitable components can lead to risks for users, such as the migration of metals in the e-liquid or the explosion of the battery. » Here is how we forbid reconstructable material, mods, boxes and how we impose the "cigalikes" of Big Tobacco on you...
