Here is a simple way to make your own E-liquid with or without nicotine, without being a great chemist. It's also a good way to save money on your E-juices.
INGREDIENTS
(To see according to your allergies)
- Distilled water.
- Pure Nicotine ( if you want to add it yourself on a liquid base that does not contain it.)
- Ready-made base Propylene Glycol / Vegetable Glycerin.
- Aromas
- Measuring container (or 1ml graduated syringes for aromas, 10ml or more for your bases).
- Small funnel
- Empty E-liquid bottles.
- Latex gloves.
COMPOSITION OF E-LIQUID :
- Pure Nicotine (if you want to add some): as its name suggests, it is pure liquid nicotine which allows you to dose your bases non-nicotine. To use very carefully. Deadly product if overdose.
- Distilled water: it thins the base liquid (but is really not essential).
- Propylene Glycol (PG): Chemical product belonging to the alcohol family, it is used in many food products, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. It is a flavor enhancer, the more PG your final liquid percentage will have, the less you will dose your flavors. It is also the PG associated with nicotine that gives the hit to your liquid.
vegetable glycerin: 100% vegetable product (as its name suggests). very viscous. It gives more volume to the steam (it is also used in smoke machines). It gives a little sweet and round note to your e-liquid.
- Aromas: you will find them either in mono aroma (mint, peach, banana….). Either in the form of concentrates which are complex formulas that allow you to vape complex e-liquids. The concentrates are often inspired by must-have ready-to-vape e-liquids such as red astaire or Snake Oil, but also by original recipes.
For the bases : There are various types of bases with different dosages of nicotine to 0 / 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 16 / 18 nicotine mg.
And the PG / GV ratio can also vary from 80PG / 20GV to 30PG / 70GV through 50PG / 50GV.
You will also find 100% GV and 100% Pg if you want to control your own dosages.
NOTE: With very few exceptions, the flavors and concentrates are made from PG. So take into account the PG / GV ratio calculation of your final e-liquid.
1) PREPARATION OF YOUR DIY (without nicotine):
Choose a very clean place to practice. The doses given below are in percentage with for example the dose in ml for a 100 ml bottle of E-liquid. Convert the percentages below in ml depending on the amount of E-liquid you want to produce using an E-liquid calculator software that is easy to find on the internet. for example http://www.liquidvap.com/index.php?static3/telechargement
- 15% distilled water. (I.e. 15 ml)
- 15% aroma. (I.e. 15 ml)
- 70% of GP or GV (i.e. 70 ml). If you want to use GV and PG, you can put 35ml GV and 35ml PG. Or 50 ml of PG and 20 ml of GV or vice versa depending on your choice.
If you do not want to use distilled water, replace it with PG, GV or a little of both.
2) WITH NICOTINE: (If you want to do your dosages yourself):
It is strongly recommended to buy nicotine already mixed in your GV or PG because the slightest error in the dosage of nicotine can be very DANGEROUS! Note that this is also prohibited in France for individuals. If however, you choose pure nicotine, at your own risk, here are the doses:
Add 0,6 ml of pure nicotine to your E-liquid base does not contain any to obtain 6 mg of nicotine per 100 ml of E-juice, if you want 12 mg of nicotine or other, adjust the doses using an “E-liquid calculator” software easy to find on the Internet.
Once your E-liquid is ready, mix well and let stand in a cool, dark place.
DIY STEEP :
Be careful not all flavors or concentrates have the same steeping time!
Some DIYs can vaporize after a few hours. others require a lot more patience. The times given here are indicative and may vary according to individual tastes and the aromas and bases used.
Fruity Diy : 7 days
Diy Gourmands : from 15 days to 1 months depending on the complexity of the mix.
Diy Tobacco : 1 minimum months.
Custard : 1 minimum months.
