Riccardo Polosa is a full professor of internal medicine and director of the Institute of Internal and Emergency Medicine at the University of Catania where he founded and supervises the Tobacco Research Center. He is also a scientific advisor to the LIAF (Italian League for the Fight against Tobacco) and coordinator of a working group within the European Committee for Standardization for subjects relating to electronic cigarettes and e-liquids.
