It is with sadness that we announce today the ban on the sale, manufacture and import of vape products in Hong Kong. If the decision was confirmed since last October, it has just taken effect on April 30, 2022. An incomprehensible choice which will probably have dramatic consequences for smokers in the country.
AUTHORIZED PERSONAL CONSUMPTION
Last October parliament passed a law banning the import, advertising and sale of vape products. This law, which took effect on Saturday April 30, 2022, is the culmination of a fight led by the health and education sectors who have denounced its early and excessive consumption by the youngest for several years.
The sales, manufacture and imports of e-cigarettes and all other vaping products have been prohibited on Hong Kong soil since April 30, 2022. Personal consumption remains authorized but, like traditional cigarettes, is prohibited in public places.
