JUUL TENT A COUP TO ENSURE SMOKING IN INDONESIA!

After sweeping through the United States, then Europe, Juul Labs sets out to assault Asia. The American e-cigarette maker will now sell its products in Indonesia.

For this, he signed a partnership with a local distributor, Erajaya Swasembada, especially known until then to sell mainly products " Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), Including the famous Iphone. Two Juul stores will soon open in the capital, Jakarta. Stores specialized in vaping or some food outlets will also be allowed to sell American brand e-cigarettes and their refills, elsewhere in Indonesia.

Juul, whose turnover amounted to $ 940 million in 2018, has thus gained access to the world's second largest tobacco market behind China. According to figures from the World Health Organization, cited by Bloomberg, smokers make up 35% of Indonesia's 264 million people. This is Juul's biggest breakthrough in Asia, where regulations in many countries are still very tight.

Juul thus continues its global expansion after having landed in Europe, first in England in 2017, then in France, at the end of 2018. Its dazzling success in the United States, its domestic market which it held in September of last year no less of 72,9% of the shares, against 13,6% a year earlier, earned it the attention of traditional tobacco companies.
