Today, we invite you to explore a very specific project. No, we will not go to the United States but to Switzerland in order to present the Riviera Vape Club, an establishment located in the city center of Montreux. After welcoming our editorial staff during a visit in December, Marc and Pedro were kind enough to answer our interview to present their project of Vape Club"
- Hello Marc, Pedro, To start, could you introduce yourself, tell us about your experience in vaping ?
- Hello my name is Pedro, I am 39 years old. I came to vaping out of curiosity following a TV documentary. My first e-cigarette was a disposable, nicotine-free passion fruit flavored, and this last one allowed me to last all evening without smoking. Following this experience, the following week I went to France to buy my first kit worthy of the name. Ecig having become a passion, I made the decision to set up my own company active in this field.
- I'm Marco, 29 years old. I started to vape after a stay in France with my family. I was curious to test the e-cig in a shop in Brest and I was very quickly seduced by its advantages (being able to vape everywhere, odorless, and especially without the harmful disadvantages of the cigarette). Subsequently it became a passion and I started to make my own e-liquids. Then, I had the opportunity to meet Pedro in his shop, and after a lot of thinking time together, we decided to launch this vape club project.
- You are the managers of the Riviera Vape Club in Montreux, can you explain to us what the concept consists of? ?
- The concept of the club started from a simple observation. Nicotine is prohibited for sale in Swiss shops and there is no place to share your passion between vapers. So we decided to set up a private vape club where members can legally add nicotine to their liquids. But not just ... discuss, drink a coffee, discuss equipment, organize vapers, vents, etc ...
- What are the amenities and services offered to club members? ?
- In terms of development, we have a space of about fifty square meters. With as main element a vape bar. The club having developed its own brand of liquids, we offer filling directly at the pump (bar bottle style), as well as 30ml vials. The bar also allows you to taste around sixty juices made available to its members. We also offer equipment cleaning by ultrasonic tank, coil workshops, and preview certain equipment. Other services are also under development.
- Can you tell us what the vapoteurs who join the club are looking for? ?
- First, the possibility of accessing nicotine. Which is not necessarily easy for everyone. Then a friendly atmosphere, discussions, advice and everything that makes the atmosphere of a club.
- Can we say that a club is more conducive to advising vapers than a shop (even if the club also offers equipment and e-liquids for sale) ?
- It all depends on the competence of the manager of the club or the shop. It's like everywhere. As for advice in shops or clubs, I think that the most interesting would be to offer training for professionals in the sector in order to meet the needs of their customers as accurately as possible. On the other hand, a club can make more time available for explanations on the equipment in a more relaxing setting.
- With the success of the Riviera, have you ever thought about setting up clubs all over Switzerland, or even in France? ?
- We could see that many moderators were loaning equipment to be displayed at the club. What are your relations with professionals ?
-For modders and companies, we organize partnerships of various kinds with them. Most of the time we make an exhibition space available to them, and each time the club sells their equipment, we receive a commission which is paid into the club's cash register. This allows the club to live and the moders to be able to exhibit and sell their equipment.
- The club also offers its own e-liquids. What can you tell us about their designs? Are they appreciated by your members ?- Yes absolutely, the club offers its own range of fluids designed and developed in the laboratory. The concept of the range is that each vapoteur can find his all-day. As for the composition of the juices, we use 100% vegetable bases and aromas produced in France exclusively. The range continues to develop according to the expectations of the members and the flavors they are looking for. At the moment we are currently on eight different juices and three new ones are planned for the month of March.
- Finally, do you think this club concept is the future of vaping? ?
- We don't necessarily think that is the future of vaping, but an evolution of what is happening now. Vape is becoming more democratic and people need to have places to meet and discuss their passion.
