This world of vaping that we know is not every day pink ... More and more, we can see drifts, a bad atmosphere, stories of money, pride that are far from this spirit of sharing that existed initially. When we were managers of the group “ Troc-Vapote »On facebook, we had the pleasure of seeing some outbursts of generosity for the most disadvantaged but it was all too rare. For some time now, a movement called " The vape of the heart »Appeared on social networks and I admit that I was skeptical on the principle, the task seemed so complex. But this well-organized movement has grown and is proving to be a real breath of fresh air for the vape as the notions of generosity and mutual aid seemed to have disappeared. The editorial staff "Vapoteurs.net" decided to contact "La vape du coeur" to learn a little more with an exclusive interview.
First of all, can you present to our readers the project “La vape du cœur”? What is its function ?
Explaining “the Vape From the Heart”… It is a very vast subject which would have too many good reasons to exist but we will try to make clear. "La Vape Du Cœur" is above all a concept inspired by the vape itself. All of them, if not some of our pioneers, were faced with problems or doubts when we started vaping. It is through the community and its natural generosity that we have found answers to these. It is from this nature of French vapers that the VDC was inspired (as we call it today). It started from the altruism that we know well from Hichem ABDEL (founding member of the Frenchyvape group), and from his motivation not to leave people in need away from this wonderful invention that is the personal vaporizer. . And for the rest, everything went well in spite of himself! We owe a lot to the Frenchy (members of the Frenchyvape group) for having known how to carry Hichem's appeal so far, because we clearly did not expect such a craze! Today, donations are pouring in every day and we are doing everything we can to ensure that this solidarity generosity is most effectively distributed! This is what the Heart Vape is, but beyond that, we believe that it was born out of a real social need. Tobacco all too often weakens the disadvantaged social classes and it is the same social classes that do not have access to information concerning this health revolution! This alternative to tobacco is much more for them than that, it can be a real way for people in difficulty to regain real purchasing power and even… Freedom!
Our operation is quite complex at the moment. It must be understood that this movement started from a simple idea and that it is built a little every day. For the moment we are only a movement carried by 9 volunteer members relying on each other to ensure that it remains in the legality. We aspire to simplify all this by becoming soon association and thus to obtain more legitimacy. For the global operation, and simply we acknowledge the donations made to us, we offer our partners recognition of the gifts they send us and we distribute donations. For this distribution, we have two gateways:
-The first, which for us is the simplest (and there majority), which is to redistribute via the associative community. We are in contact with various associations and establish partnerships with those who can afford vapors. Our first official test is done by the association of Our Lady of the Homeless of Lyon and the first results are extremely conclusive!
-The second is a self-help group that we have set up. It was our primary form of distribution, and our original purpose was to reserve those gifts for community members in need. Only, with the nascent craze, have we changed our course of action and felt that the trust we were given deserved to serve a wider cause than the closed circle of connected vapers. The purpose of this group is to allow us to not forget our primary purpose, and we work to offer it to community members who want to take care of it as a volunteer.
We have noticed that a lot of vaping professionals have participated in this cause. Are you in great demand? Are there enough donations to meet the demand?
Very good question ! Yes we are rather solicited, and it is a real satisfaction to see so much generosity. It really pushes us in our actions and really motivates us to always go further. But the question of the quantity of donations is indeed one of our concerns for the moment. The donations made to us today are mostly end of stock and unsold items sent to us by our partners. One concern concerns us, and it is obviously long-term supply. Now we intend to request the registration of our association in the general interest regime, hoping thus to be able to allow our generous donors to be able to find their accounts in turn thanks to a tax credit of 66% of the donations they we do. For the moment we will have trouble really being able to officiate throughout the national territory. But if you ask us the question, know that we can already see ourselves officiating throughout the European community, and no longer just in France! We are looking for new agreements according to our means, and if we have a real step to take in France as a priority, it is to obtain a substantive agreement with "the restaurants of the heart"!
Regarding the mutual aid group between individuals, for once, it is self-managed. The balance between donors and applicants is almost perfect there, we even sometimes have donor surpluses!
From what point can we consider that we are in need? Don't some people have difficulty calling on you?
In fact, for the moment the notion of need is quite subjective. What you should know is that in the group "gifts of the vape of the heart between individuals" we help people who dare to make their request (and yes because you have to dare, it is not the most obvious in front of strangers of their difficulties) and that we do not ask them to justify their situation. We only regularly remind our members to show good faith and we especially try to verify the quality of our members by monitoring them and making sure that they do not fool us once the donations are made! For such a movement to work we need to be honest and we aspire to trust!
We know there are always people out there to abuse kindness, but we also know that for a scammer we are helping 9 honest people and that fact alone matters!
For the association, things will be different and our applicant members will have to justify their financial situation, like the restos du cœur, and will be seen according to their income, as well as various other supporting documents, accepted within the association. . They will receive from her a certain quantity of material and liquid according to their needs. To tell the truth, we still have a few details to settle on this subject, which is why I would remain evasive!
The association is not yet operational to process direct requests, everything goes through the donation group! Therefore, you must necessarily be a connected vapers to benefit from our good care. What's more, as said earlier, we are very selective about the group. If we can give advice to people seeking to benefit from the help of the VDC (or wanting to help), it remains to fill in your Facebook profile with as many details as possible and if the profile is empty (kind of profile created especially for the VDC) to let us know your motivations via a mp addressed to one of the members of the board or one of the admins of the group before even applying for membership, so that we know who you are and what are your motivations. All empty profiles and without information on the past majority of the member is rejected without explanation from us! So you know what you have to do!
Are you able to sort and avoid dishonest people? Have you had any problems at this level?
To be honest, we are working with different groups to convey our doubts about some applicants. For the moment, thanks to this monitoring, we have not had to deplore any major problems. We had some demand abuse but nothing we couldn't handle! On the other hand, it is clear that we invite all the administrators of the different groups to tell us about their “blacklist” and will share ours with all those who ask for it, to avoid this kind of inconvenience as much as possible!
Are you connected with other associations such as restos du cœur, la croix rouge… If so, what does he think of your initiative?
It's a complicated subject! Let's say that we tried, through one of our members, to join “les Restos du Cœur”. The member in question told us that he had contacted a person in charge of the association at the national level and the results were not favorable to us. According to this person, they were cautious about the legislation. Only this member left the group and we have no more news from the national management of this association. Therefore the work remains to be done and we are counting on certain members to get closer to this association which will certainly be our priority target. We aspire that their members are a priority target for us because they correspond to the typical profile of the applicants of our association. Afterwards, for the moment, we will not be able to work with all the associations, we will have to make choices. Especially if we want to officiate on the national territory!
Could we imagine in the future the possibility of making money donations which would allow “the vape of the heart” to buy equipment and which would be tax deductible?
Of course, and we hope to improve our services with this! In terms of helping the association financially, there will be many ways. The first will be to integrate it as "members of heart", this is to pay an annual fee and support the association by participating in the GA. The price of the contributions is under discussion! Beyond that, an exceptional donation will be possible and this, without limitation, both material and financial.
With respect to the tax credit, we will apply, because we will have to be in the public interest system. This plan would allow us to offer a tax credit up to 66% of the value of the donation, be it material, financial or even for contributions! But we are not the masters of the final decision and only the tax services of the region where we will deposit the association will be able to grant us such a regime!
What are your ambitions for the future? Do you have any expansion plans for "the vape of the heart" or do you prefer to simply stay on social networks.
I think that we will have partially answered this question via the answers given to the other questions. We haven't set anything in stone, to be honest, because we owe our existence to you, you members of the community. Personally, I have never stopped repeating this. Without you, we are nothing, no one within the vape of the heart is irreplaceable, on the other hand the vape of the heart can only exist thanks to the generosity of the greatest number. If the community continues to follow us as it has done so far, we will continue, if it gives us the means to go further, then we will have no limits! I would add in a personal capacity that if tomorrow we have the means to open the bridges to more than applicants in difficulty, we will offer kits to smokers directly in the street if necessary. There should be no limit to generosity! It's a concept far too often forgotten these days!
If you want to participate in "the vape of the heart", what are the most important needs?
Well, two possibilities are available to you:
-You have little material and you think you can help on your own. The material that you have is advanced and would not correspond to a first-time beginner. So the group "the gifts of the vape of the heart between individuals" is waiting for you. Even if you are a professional! (I say that because we have some). You will be able to find Christophe and Ingrid there who will help you distribute your donations.
-You have a good amount of material and / or no time to devote to the distribution. So just send an email to frenchyvape@hotmail.com, to let us know and we will send you the delivery address. We will then take care of the distribution.
Our needs are vast. The association with it especially needs beginner kits, consumables (resistance, pyrex, drip-tip, etc.) and liquids. For donations, and of course for everything, without limit. It is often in this one, to help vapers to go further in their vape. We therefore need mods, clearos, reconstructables, consumables of all kinds up to DIY. Therefore any outpouring of generosity is welcome!
