ITALY: The “super tax” on e-cigs deemed unconstitutional!

Last Friday, an important court decision took place in Rome, Italy. Indeed, the Italian Constitutional Court ruled that the “super taxIn place on electronic cigarettes was simply unconstitutional. In its judgment, the Court declared that the law which entered into force on January 1, 2014 establishing a tax of 58,5% on the e-cigarettes was unconstitutional because it did not meet the same parameters as that put in place for tobacco.

In addition, the court specifies that if the tax on cigarettes was indeed justified because they are recognized as " seriously toxic to health 'The' same assumption with respect to the sale of products containing nicotine was not obvious. »

Clearly this is very good news for the e-cigarette and above all a battle won which, we hope, will be a milestone. We must now hope that in the future, the vape can still obtain a lot of victory in order to guarantee its freedom.
