EVENT: The 1er summit of the vape in France.

EVENT: The 1er summit of the vape in France.

7,7 to 9,2 millions of French have already experimented with the electronic cigarette and between 1,1 and 1,9 million would be regular vapers (OFDT 2013). The "vapers" are on average rather young: 8% of 25-34 years are daily users; 45% of 15-24 years have tried the electronic cigarette (2014 health barometer).

In May 2016, the European directive on tobacco products will be transposed into French law; the electronic cigarette that can contain nicotine and imitates the act of smoking has been included in this directive. The modalities of the application do not make consensus.

Le 1er Summit of the vape wants to bring together all the stakeholders (scientists, politicians, associations, health authorities, users) to discuss together the best way to promote the development of the use of the electronic cigarette as an alternative to tobacco among smokers and minimize the potential for negative effects.
