MALAYSIA: MVIA denounces government's proposal to ban vaping

This is a situation that greatly worries the vaping industry in Malaysia. Indeed, the current government is preparing to table a proposal to implement a ban on the sale of vape products in the country. For its part, the Malaysian Vape Industry Advocacy (MVIA) denounces an unjustified and disturbing proposal.

AN UNFAIR DECISION MADE BY THE GOVERNMENT

A government proposal to implement a ban on the sale of vaping products will be tabled in the Malaysian parliament in July. For the Malaysian Vape Industry Advocacy (MVIA) this proposal is unfair to the local vaping industry.

Its president Rizani Zakaria said vaping and traditional cigarettes are two completely different products and should not be regulated in the same way.

» The decision by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to equate the vaping and tobacco industry by imposing a ban on the products is unfair to the vaping industry.  »

« Internationally, various studies have shown that the two products are very different. In fact, vaping has been proven to be less harmful than traditional cigarettes and can help smokers quit smoking.“, he said in a recent statement.
