MALAYSIA: The Ministry of Health no longer wants e-liquid with nicotine in shops.

In Malaysia, thehe Ministry of Health announces that it will monitor vape shops to ensure that they do not offer e-liquids containing nicotine.

A LICENSE TO SELL E-LIQUIDS WITH NICOTINE?

For the Deputy Minister, Lee Boon Chye, nicotine is on the poisonous substances list of the Poison Act 1952 and only qualified personnel can have the right to sell it. To ensure that no point of sale offers nicotine e-liquids, checks will be carried out.

«You will need a license to sell it. If, during our checks, we discover that the points of sale sell products with nicotine, measures will be taken against the owner of the store ", did he declare.

Speaking to reporters after lunch, Dr Lee was asked to explain how the ministry envisioned the proposed e-liquids containing nicotine. This one admits that there is a risk that outlets will advertise nicotine-free e-liquids and still sell nicotine products "under the counter".

« They may have ways to get around the problem and we also have ways to enforce it“, He added, stressing that the decision of the ministry was clearly dissuasive.

"We want to raise awareness that smoking and vaping is not good" , did he declare.

In a virulent Twitter message encouraging people to report people smoking or vaping in public, Dr. Lee said the ministry's decision not to smoke in public places was more about educating the public.

«We want to educate people that smoking and vaping is not healthy. All the measures we take are dissuasive. We want people to know it's not good for you ", did he declare.
