Bericap France et APPE France innovate in the e-cigarette, The two companies located in Côte-d'Or have jointly developed and are launching a complete refill - vial and cap - for e-cigarettes. Innovative and very safe, this new product and, the first of its kind in France, intends to conquer 30% of the European vaping market at 7 millions of people. The industrialization will be on the site of Dijon for Bericap and Mendig (Germany) for APPE.
This is truly a national first. Bericap, the leading European cork maker, and APPE(*), also the European leader in PET bottles and preforms, have designed a 10 milliliter refill for e-cigarettes which will be manufactured in April at the Bericap site in Dijon and in Germany for the APPE bottle.
After more than a year of reflection and development, the two packaging specialists who have a long experience of working together, are attacking a market held at 80% by the Chinese, the inventors of this substitute to the classic cigarette.
"Due to customs duties, the obligation to pay cash on order and delivery times of around four weeks, or even more, production is gradually returning to the old continent, offering good growth prospects", explains Nicholas Marra, commercial director at Bericap.
The e-cigarette has already won 7 million vapers in Europe, including 2 million in France, which represents several hundred million units.
To seduce the customers of liquid manufacturers who condition and market the final product to resellers, however, it was necessary to stand out through innovation. Bericap and APPE believe they have taken up the challenge.
Both companies have imagined a more ergonomic and above all very safe charging. The flared head of the baptized cap e-smocap, reminiscent of an e-cigarette tip and facilitates the opening.
The tamper evident band comes off completely from the first use, alerting the potential risk of manipulation by children and prevents any counterfeiting. Finally, the very flexible filling pipette makes dosing easier. For its part, the translucent vial (e-liquipack), which accepts recycled PET for its manufacture in the hot cycle - injection of the preform and direct blowing - incorporates a UV filter to protect the nicotine.
The manufacturers, who are aiming for 30% market share on the old continent, will present their novelty at the Paris Innovaping Days of 23 and 24 next March, then at the Miami World Vapor Expo, from 29 to 31 May, the show world of the e-cigarette.
