Today, the deputies have just adopted the entire bill to modernize our health system by 311 votes for, 241 against and 10 abstentions. Even if this is only a first reading, the vise tightens a little more on vapers. Even if all is not finished, it is difficult to see how it could all turn around as the stakes are high.
WHAT ARE THE IMPACTS OF THIS BILL ON VAPOR HEALTH?
If the health bill and the new restrictive measures against e-cigarettes were fully adopted, this would give the government permission to transpose by ordinance the European tobacco directive (the famous "TPD") and especially 20 article which will severely restrict the electronic cigarette. Obviously the repercussions would be disastrous because it would extend the ban on direct and indirect advertising for tobacco to the electronic e-cigarette and would only allow communication between professionals from the 20th May 2016. Clearly we could no longer exercise our right to information on this platform among others. Finally, this would restrict the use of electronic cigarettes in certain public places and reserved spaces must be provided in the places affected by the ban.
We will continue to follow all of this closely. In the meantime, we can only see the damage that may be caused.
