The Nigerian government has examined Friday 27 July in the Council of Ministers a bill amending and supplementing the anti-tobacco law adopted in 2006, announces an official statement.
According to the internal regulations of the National Assembly, the draft texts initiated by the Deputies called a bill are submitted to the Government for examination before their adoption by the elected officials. Tobacco abuse is a scourge for young people who constitute more than 65% of the Nigerien population and there has been a concern to update the law to take into account new practices such as shisha.
In addition, the government adopted a decree establishing the status of the CNRS National Scientific Research Council created in 2015 with the aim of providing the scientific environment with a structure for pooling resources dedicated to scientific research.
