STANDARD: VDLV e-liquids are Afnor certified.

In a press release published a few days ago, we are pleased to learn that VDLV e-liquids are the first to obtain AFNOR certification. Hoping that this will become widespread for French e-liquids in the coming months.

afnorAFNOR? WHAT IS THIS CERTIFICATION?

AFNOR Certification is the first certification and evaluation body for systems, services, products and skills in France. Third party of confidence attached to the values of independence, impartiality and confidentiality, AFNOR Certification offers a proximity service thanks to its 39 agencies on 5 continents and its 13 regional French delegations. It mobilizes 1600 qualified auditors to meet the needs of its customers spread across more than 60 000 sites worldwide. The general management of AFNOR Certification is provided by Franck Lebeugle.

THE VDLV COMMUNIQUE

Last September, VDLV officially received the E-liquid certification issued by AFNOR Certification *. This is the first time that e-liquids for e-cigarettes provide objective guarantees of quality, safety and information to consumers.

This is a key date for the company but also for the history of the vape since this certification indicates that the products have been tested by an independent body, according to the public criteria, from a voluntary standard: the XP D90-300 part 2. Since its beginnings in 2012, VDLV has always put the quality and safety of vapers at the center of its concerns by producing e-liquids itself but also soon its own nicotine "vapological". This is why Girondine society is particularly proud to receive this certification. On the initiative of FIVAPE, INC
and users of the personal vaporizer, this pledge of confidence is the result of a new work undertaken in standardization two years ago in France, now pursued internationally.

This certification provides several guarantees, including :

>> A rigorous selection of the raw materials used (PG, VG and nicotine of European or American pharmacopoeia quality).

>> The exclusion of ingredients such as heavy metals, sugars and sweeteners, vegetable and mineral oils, vitamins and minerals, stimulating additives, formaldehyde liberators and other substances classified CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic) and STOT (specific respiratory tract toxicity class 1)…

>> Control in e-liquids of the concentration of the following substances, the maximum levels of which have been set: diacetyl, acrolein, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde.

>> Information provided to consumers on the product and assistance offered via internet and telephone.

To meet the certification requirements, VDLV was audited in May 2016 by AFNOR Certification and had an independent laboratory analyze a representative sample of its e-liquids represented by its trademarks Vincent in the vapes and CirKus.

The certified e-liquids have the mention "E-liquid certified by AFNOR Certification" and are recognizable by this visual :

To better satisfy its consumers, VDLV also goes further in its “vapological” requirement and also controls the concentration of potentially toxic substances in inhalation at high doses over the long term (acetyl propionyl, coumarin, 2-3 hexane dione acetoin, etc.).

This certification comes in a particularly turbulent context for the vape since it arrives at the very moment of the transposition in France of the European directive of tobacco products (TPD). Far from taking care of the composition of e-liquids, this one aims to limit the size of the container to 10mL, to prohibit the advertising and to oblige the manufacturers to declare their recipes without any quality control being actually operated, unlike the E-liquid certification issued by AFNOR Certification, which offers consumers safety guarantees in the composition of products.

With its experience in traceability, the certification of VDLV products highlights all the work carried out by the company since its creation. Although being the first French manufacturer to have its products recognized, VDLV wants other manufacturers to receive this certification in order to allow the French know-how well known to vapers to radiate on a larger scale.
