The poll, which included 1000 smokers and vapers, also pointed out that in Wales :

• More than 70% of e-cigarette users Would like more research on the potential risks of using e-cigarettes.

• More than 26% of all smokers surveyed confess to being confused about health messages regarding the e-cigarette.

For Mike Knapton, Associate Medical Director at BHF « This survey shows how popular the e-cigarette has become and is seen as an aid for smokers who want to quit in Wales. We owe it to ourselves to listen in order to help people choose the safest path to a smoke-free life. »

He also added: "We already know that nearly one in five adults smokes in the UK and it is essential that they are supported and informed about the solutions in order to quit for good. We call on smokers in Wales to take Wednesday March 9th to take the first step in a tobacco-free life and to join over 600.000 others who will also attempt to quit on that day. »
