SMOKING OR VAPING IN PUBLIC SPACE PUNISHED WITH 4 MONTHS IN PRISON!


This prohibition applies to both conventional cigarettes and electronic cigarettes. Henceforth, smoking and vaping will be prohibited in all enclosed public places and in parks and children's gathering places. Anyone who contravenes this new legislation may be punished by up to four months in prison and a fine of 5.000 pesos (around 90 euros).

From now on, smokers will have to be content with specific outdoor areas not exceeding ten square meters and which must be located at least ten meters from the entrances of buildings, With such a decree, already put in place by Rodrigo Duterte in the municipality of Davao where he was mayor, the country has one of the most repressive legislation in Asia on tobacco.
