REVIEW: The complete test of the Evic VTC Mini Tron (Joyetech)

A few months ago, we presented you the novelty from Joyetech, the “Evic VTC Mini” kit which, subsequently, was one of the best sales of 2015. The Chinese brand leader in the market has never been not stopped there and now offers an improved version of this bestseller. We obviously got this kit Evic VTC Mini Tron to give you a complete review. So do you propose something new ? Is the "Tron" clearomiser more reliable than the Ego One Mega ? This kit is there a good price / quality ratio ? As usual we offer a complete article on the subject supported by a video review to be as accurate as possible.

EVIC VTC MINI TRON: PRESENTATION AND PACKAGING

This new mod « Evic VTC Mini Tron "From Joyetech comes in a solid cardboard box on which we will find some fairly standard information. Inside, a foam pad contains the mod which is well installed to withstand any shocks during transport. The package is composed of the mod Evic VTC Mini ", A clearomizer" Tron », A resistance CL-Ni (0.2 Ohm), An CL-Ti (0.4 Ohm) and one last CL (1 Ohm) an micro-usb cable and manual (in French). For general characteristics, The Evic VTC Mini Tron does 82 mm height for 38 mm width and 22 mm of diameter. EVIC VTC MINI TRON: AN IMPROVED MODEL IN THIS "TRON" VERSION

With this version « Tron“, Joyetech has improved the chipset and added an additional mode. The Evic VTC Mini Tron offers the same as in the previous model but with an additional functionality including the "Stainless Steel" mode, we will also find the last firmware update (Version 2.0). To control all this, there are two buttons "+" and "-". The Evic VTC Mini therefore offers 5 distinct modes including 3 which use the temperature control and are selectable in the menu (by pressing the "fire" button 3 times)

A) Wv / Vv mode
Variable power / variable voltage mode will allow you to change your power 1 to 75 watts. This is a very classic mode that you will use for your atomizers that do not necessarily require a temperature control. This mode accepts the resistances of 0.1 to 3.5 ohm

B) Nickel Temperature Control Mode (VT-Ni mode)
This mode has a temperature control adapted to the use of the resistance CL-Ni 0.20 Ohm nickel. So you have the possibility to change your power from 1 to 75 watts but also to manage your maximum temperature (100-315 ℃ / 200-600˚F). This mode accepts the resistances of 0.05 to 1.0ohm

C) Titanium Temperature Control Mode (VT-Ti mode)
This mode has a temperature control adapted to the use of the resistance CL-Ti 0.40 Ohm titanium. So you have the possibility to change your power from 1 to 75 watts but also to manage your maximum temperature (100-315 ℃ / 200-600˚F). This mode accepts the resistances of 0.05 to 1.0 ohm

D) Titanium Temperature Control Mode (VT-Ti mode)
This is the new mode offered by the Evic VTC Mini Tron, this mode includes a temperature control adapted to the use of the resistance CL-SS stainless steel. So you have the possibility to change your power from 1 to 75 watts but also to manage your maximum temperature (100-315 ℃ / 200-600˚F). This mode accepts the resistances of 0.05 to 1.0 ohm

E) The "Bypass" mode (Mechanical mode)
This mode will allow you to use your box as a mechanical mod by delivering the voltage of the battery installed according to your resistance. This mode accepts resistances of 0.1 to 3.5 ohm

EVIC VTC MINI TRON: A BOX ALWAYS AT THE TOP, A MORE POWERFUL CHIPSET!

The Evic VTC Mini Tron has three buttons to control all the possibilities offered by this box. EVIC VTC MINI TRON: AN INTERCHANGEABLE BATTERY SYSTEM

For this Evic VTC Mini Tron, Joyetech has decided not to change the system used on the previous version, ie an interchangeable battery system with a magnetic cover. Charging will be done using a supplied Usb / Micro Usb cord which plugs directly into the front of the box, Joyetech announces a charging time of about 3 hours if you use a 1A power adapter.

TRON ATOMIZER: NOT YET AT THE TOP ...

If we can be satisfied with the boxes offered by Joyetech, we see that the brand has made little progress in the design of its atomizers. In this kit, we find the Tron atomizer supposed to replace the famous Ego One Mega so much criticized. A design that clearly refers to the film " Tron (A classic), the new Joyetech atomizer is also proposed in 6 colors. At the technical characteristics level, it makes 56 mm of length for 22 mm of diameter and a weight of 52 grams. Just like the Ego One mega, the Tron atomizer offers a capacity of 4 ml, it is entirely in stainless steel and has a pyrex tank. First of all, we see that the filling is much simpler on this model, the interior channels are much wider than on the Ego One Mega. The openings in "V" shape on each side of the atomizer allow you to perfectly see the amount of e-liquid remaining. A little more surprisingly, it is the air-flow system chosen by Joyetech, a double airflow in reality, working with a rotating ring which is hidden under the base of the clearomiser. The airflow is invisible while allowing an adjustment of the air supply. While the leakage issues present on the Ego One Mega seem to be gone, The Tron Atomizer does not turn out to be a lightning strike. Regardless of the coils used, we often had dry-hit problems whether with e-liquids strong in vegetable glycerin or not. We expected a real revolution in this area, in the end we ended up with a mixed product that did not convince us.

TRON ATOMIZER: SUB-OHM RESISTORS IN TITANIUM, NICKEL BUT NOT THAT…

Let's talk about the resistors provided in the pack Evic VTC Mini Tron“, We mentioned the possibility of using“ CL-Ss ”resistors but we will not talk about it here because there is none in the kit. There are therefore 3 types of resistance:

A) CL-ni resistors (Nickel 0.2 Ohm)

These CL-ni resistors are based on nickel and therefore offer a very low value: 0.2 Ohm. The flavor and steam rendering is really impressive and the use with the temperature control really allows you to have fun in complete safety. On the other hand, strong sensations guaranteed, do not engage in the use of these resistances if you wish to have a rather quiet vape. With these, you will have a good cruise rate from 40 watts, you can push them to 60 watts if you want to take a big slap (for me it was really too much).

B) The resistances CL-ti (Titanium 0.4 Ohm)

CL-ti resistors are already more suited to a traditional vape. Made from Titanium with a value of 0.4 Ohm, I had great pleasure to vape with these resistances which also offer a very dense steam and a magnificent rendering of flavor. Less aggressive than the CL-ni resistors, you can quietly 30 to 40 watts or use them at 60 watts for a little stronger sensations. Obviously the temperature control will allow you to safely vape.

C) CL resistors (1 Ohm)

The CL 1 Ohm resistors will be perfectly suited for beginners, they offer a smoother vapor and a more pronounced taste. You can vape quietly between 15 and 25 watts.

PRECAUTIONS ON THE USE OF THE EVIC VTC MINI TRON

This box being basic adapted to manage the sub-ohm, you don't have to worry a priori from a safety point of view. The Evic VTC Mini Tron has been configured to accept resistances up to 0,05 ohm, so we have the right to trust it. Its power of 75 watts will also be quite sufficient to vape in complete safety. Despite this, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that in choosing your batteries you must remain cautious. If you do not have the necessary knowledge, educate yourself before using it.

If the Kit Evic VTC Mini Was of good quality, this new model " Tron Proves to be globally convincing. Joyetech understood that the “Ego One Mega” atomizer had aroused a lot of disappointment and wanted to change it to offer a new more reliable model, unfortunately the bet is far from being successful. Nevertheless the chipset has been improved and the quality of the vape remains correct as long as you use it in direct inhaling, if you are looking for a kit with a reliable box you will not be disappointed by the Evic VTC Mini Tron.
