After the good surprise “Evic VTC” last year, it's hard to believe that Joyetech can offer a box with a better finish. And yet, after several weeks of testing, today we are going to offer you the complete test of the latest creation from Joyetech: The Cuboid. This one was sent to us by our partner " My Vapors Europe So that we offer you this review. So what is this Cuboid ? Is this the new reference in terms of electronic box ? Are there many improvements ? It is these questions that we will try to answer in this comprehensive test that will be proposed as always here with this article and in video.
JOYETECH CUBOID: PRESENTATION AND PACKAGING
As we are used to, Joyetech did things well. The Cuboid is presented in a beautiful rigid cardboard box containing the box correctly installed in its foam case, a usb recharging cable, a warranty card and a manual (in English only). Regarding the technical characteristics, the box is 91,5 mm height for 42 mm width and 28 mm in diameter, its weight is 213 grams without batteries. The Cuboid by Joyetech requires 2 batteries to operate (the Efest Purple are clearly not recommended due to unsuitable diameter.)
JOYETECH CUBOID: A DESIGN, CLASSIC AND COMPACT BOX.
Design side, we can already take a big hat trick to Joyetech for his box Cuboid. Rectangular in shape, it turns out to be very compact for a box which accommodates 2 batteries, entirely in stainless steel, the Cuboid is a very solid model which accepts the various manipulations that can be done very well (after more than 3 weeks of 'uses, it is intact). For the finish, another good point, we have a nice shiny box whose coating does not move over time, the name of the brand and the model are discreetly inscribed on the back of the Cuboid. The Oled screen is well placed (as on the Evic VTC mini) as is the micro usb port (which is used for updates only). With a diameter of 28 mm, the Cuboid can accommodate all kinds of atomizers without scratching the overall design. Only small regret .. That this one only exists 3 colors only (Black, Metal, Charcoal Gray).
JOYETECH CUBOID: ALL THE NECESSARY MODES ARE PRESENT!
On this side, this new box from Joyetech really blew us away. First of all the chipset is of very good quality, it will be possible for you to vape from 1 to 150 watts (see 200 watts if you make the last update). Navigating the system is very simple thanks to 3 buttons, Joyetech has not changed its winning system already present on the Evic VT and the Evic VTC mini, you will therefore be able to arrange the information as you see fit on the screen. Indeed, the Cuboid has a screen of 0,96 inches with 6 lines of information including power, temperature control, output in volts, resistance value, output in amperes, number of puffs and battery life. The most interesting about this box remains the choice of modes which are five in number:
- Variable Power Mode : A classic mode for all types of resistances in kanthal of 0,10 Ohm to 3,5 Ohms. It also works with the BF SS316 coils of the Cubis clearomiser or with the famous Altus atomiser.
- Ni-200 Mode (Nickel) : A temperature control mode with ni200 resistors of 0.05 Ohm to 1.5 Ohms
- Ti mode (Titanium) : A temperature control mode with the titanium resistors of 0.05 Ohm to 1.5 Ohms
- Stainless Steel Mode : A temperature control mode with the stainless steel (stainless steel 316L) resistors of 0.05 Ohm to 1.5 Ohms. This mode is perfectly adapted to use the resistances SS of Cubis.
- TCR mode : A mode which makes it possible to carry out assemblies with resistive wires Nife, Nickel, Titanium, Stainless 303, 304, 316 and 317. Note that you can save 3 assembly memory profiles which allows you to keep the characteristics of three different atomizers. This mode allows you to be very precise in how you use the temperature control even though it is still quite a complex mode to use.
JOYETECH CUBOID: A DOUBLE BATTERY BOX FOR BETTER AUTONOMY!
For some time the boxes that accept several batteries are legions and the Cuboid of Joyetech is no exception to the rule. If the fact of accepting two batteries clearly offers a gain in autonomy, we cannot do just anything anyhow! The Cuboid can therefore carry 2 18650 batteries but in order to be completely safe you will need to use batteries of at least 30 Amps, in good condition and with an identical level of charge. We also advise you to avoid purple efest because of unsuitable diameter and if possible to use 2 identical batteries. On the installation side, Joyetech has done things well, it is difficult to reverse the polarity of the batteries because everything is clearly registered (but be careful all the same), the batteries once inserted will be blocked by a hatch which has a locket. This famous hatch has many degassing holes which make the Cuboid a little more secure.
CAUTIONARY ADVICE ON THE USE OF CUBOID BY JOYETECH
As this box is basic adapted to manage the sub-ohm, you do not have to worry a priori from a safety point of view. The "Cuboid" box has been configured to accept resistances up to 0,05 ohm, so we have the right to place our trust in it. Its power of 200 watts will also be quite sufficient to vape in complete safety. Remember to choose your batteries well and follow our advice on the matter, if you do not have the necessary knowledge, find out before any use!
