A few days ago, UKVIA (UK VIA Industry Association) went to Parliament to launch VApril, a national campaign to encourage smokers to switch to e-cigarettes.
The UKVIA association therefore met with deputies and members of the House of Lords, under the leadership of Mark Pawsey, Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) to launch the campaign. During this meeting, he declared: “ Vaping is now recognized as one of the best ways to quit smoking and therefore presents a major opportunity for a significant and positive impact on public health. Yet there is still only one in ten people who understands the minor risk of vaping compared to smoking. »
« Even in our own parliament, vapers are treated the same as smokers, forced to go to outdoor areas far from their workplace. It's time we practice what we preach and make Parliament “vape-friendly.” That's why we're looking to change the rules in Parliament to set an example for the public and businesses across the country. To John Dunne, Director of Vaping Industry Association from the United Kingdom : "There needs to be more vaping awareness to reach the millions of UK smokers, this VApril campaign will encourage some of them to see vaping as a positive initiative. It is estimated that there are currently 3 million vapers in the UK, almost half of whom have quit smoking altogether. VApril wants to encourage more people to do the same! "
