UK: Vape store manager arrested for refusing to close!

In the UK, selling e-cigarettes does not seem to be an essential activity! In St Helens, an English town not far from Liverpool, an owner of a vape shop who refused to close despite confinement due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) was arrested by the police. However, he said that he provided an essential service to the population and to smokers wishing to end smoking.

“I THINK WE OFFER AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE! "

The owner of a vape shop who refused to close his business despite the containment due to Covid-19 was recently arrested by the police. A video published by our colleagues from " Metro "Shows four officers pinning Ian grave, 45 years old.

According to the offender, the store remained open because it provides a key service and offers products that help people quit smoking. However, under UK government rules, only stores selling essentials such as supermarkets, pharmacies and post offices are allowed to stay open to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

He told the Liverpool Echo : " I thought we were doing it right, I only had one staff member and we were only allowing one customer in at a time. In addition, we took care to clean every time. »

« In my opinion, we provide an essential service by selling nicotine products. Some stores are still allowed to stay open, so why not us? You can also go to DIY stores but are they essential? However, the police arrived and said that we had to close. I asked under which law I should close and they did not know it. »
