According to the Inca, 60% of cancers are determined by our genetic patrimony. The remaining 40% are due to our way of life, our diet and our socio-professional situation.
The most common cancers: breast, lungs, prostate, colon
The most common cancers: breast cancer and that of the prostate. The first affected nearly 55 women in 000 and the second reached 2015 men last year. Cancers of the lungs (54 women and 000 men) and colorectal (15 women and 000 men) finally come to the bottom of this sad list.
Tobacco causes 15 different cancers
The number one preventable cancer risk factor? Tobacco which represents 30% of all deaths linked to this disease. And the cigarette can cause almost 15 different cancers. In second place in the Inca's ranking of preventable factors comes alcohol with 15 fatal cancers due to too much consumption.
384 442 new cancer cases in 2015
In France, cancer has been diagnosed in 384 people and at 1 750 children in 2015. An increase of 30 cases which is explained by the increase in life expectancy. The diagnosis of cancer is generally made around the age of 68 for men, and 67 for women.
