On the eve of the second “Tobacco-free Me (s)” in November, Leclerc supermarkets are demanding the right to sell nicotine substitutes. This is not their first attempt.
250 PARAPHARMACIES READY TO SELL NICOTINIC SUBSTITUTES
« In line with its fights for more accessible health, the E. Leclerc Movement is once again calling on the public authorities to obtain authorization to sell cheaper nicotine substitutes.. Published 23 October 2017, the release falls on the eve of the launch of theoperation "Me (s) without tobacco", scheduled for November.
Leclerc supermarkets note that the lump sum reimbursement of these nicotine patches and gums has passed from € 50 to € 150 in November 2016. For them, this measure is insufficient: " If the reimbursement rate has an impact and encourages cessation of smoking, the cost of purchasing the treatment also encourages ". Reason why they claim the possibility of selling these products at a lower price.
Another argument put forward by E. Leclerc: its network of 250 drugstores, " all entrusted to doctors in pharmacy ».
This is not the first offensive of this group of supermarkets. Already, in 2014, Leclerc had tried to obtain the right to sell nicotine substitutes.
