If young Canadians are showing a strong propensity to vape lately, it is due to the influence of massive advertising, which promotes several varieties of e-cigarettes. The fact that these vaping products are presented in attractive packaging and that their flavors are varied could be other reasons of attraction.

According to the Léger survey, 7 in 10 Canadians (69%) want the government to act as quickly as possible to reduce or eradicate this youth dependence on vaping products. They are even more numerous, On 8 10to ask for total ban advertising of these products both on television and on the Internet.

Federal officials have recently indicated that this situation is of sufficient concern to initiate consultations to determine the best way to intervene. The Minister of Health Ginette Petitpas-Taylor then announced the launch of two regulatory consultations to oversee the advertising of vaping products and to regulate attributes, flavors, presentations, nicotine levels, etc.
