Bad news for vapers who used to use their e-cigarettes during Stade Malherbe Caen… Indeed, the football club relegated to Ligue 2 last season announced that the stands of its Michel d'Ornano stadium will now be non-smoking and non-vaping.
EXCLUSION OF THE STAGE IN CASE OF NON-COMPLIANCE WITH THE POLICY IN FORCE!
From now on, it will not be possible to smoke a cigarette or even to steam while watching the SM Caen players trample their lawn. The football club Caen, which plays in Dominos League 2, has recently announced that the stands of the stadium Michel d'Ornano will be non-smoking and non-vaping from the first home game of the 2019-2020 season.
In November 2018, SM Caen took part in the operation “Tobacco-free month”. Several smoking areas were installed in the stadium on this occasion. These famous smoking areas are located near the stands and in the gangways of the enclosure. The meeting at home against Lorient, this Monday 5 August 2019, at 20h, will be the first where the stadium will be exclusively non-smoking. The Norman club did a list of details to prevent future spectators from being surprised after entering the stadium:
From 5 August 2019 in the stadium Michel d'Ornano :
- There will be smoking areas present and indicated in all the stands of the stadium
- Prohibition to use also the electronic cigarette in stand
- If a person smokes in a stand, it will be directed to the smoking areas
- In case of refusal to join a smoking area or if a person is seen smoking several times in the gallery, Stade Malherbe Caen reserves the right to exclude this person from the stadium
Note that it is not not forbidden by law to smoke in football stadiums like Michel d'Ornano. According to the association for the rights of non-smokers (DNF): " In order for the smoking ban to be clearly recognized, the place must be both covered and closed. However, there is little chance that a judge considers a stadium closed because the stands are open to an open space. «
