THE E-CIGARETTE AT THE SAME LEVEL AS TOBACCO!
In the Canton of Bern in Switzerland, citizens agreed to an amendment to the law on commerce and industry which went almost unnoticed and which has not been contested. Electronic cigarettes will be subject to the same rules as conventional cigarettes. This means that its delivery and sale are prohibited to minors.
The advertising ban that applies to conventional tobacco products will be extended to electronic cigarettes. The latter will also be subject to regulations relating to protection against passive smoking.
The Grand Council and the Executive Council wanted to quickly define a cantonal solution for the sake of health and protection of young people and not wait for a ban to be pronounced at the national level. Several cantons already prohibit the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors.
