MANY LIMITATIONS AND REGULATIONS AGAINST E-CIGARETTE


The Bernese government wants to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes to people under 18, whether or not they contain nicotine. It also advocates a ban on advertising and protective provisions against passive smoking.

Tobacco products to be heated, herbal smoking products, such as herbal or hemp cigarettes with a low THC content, as well as snuff should be subject to the same requirements. The requirements would therefore be the same as for cigarettes.

These measures are included in the draft revision of the Law on Commerce and Industry. They met with a largely favorable response during the consultation procedure, the canton of Bern said on Friday.
