It would really be a change of course for Switzerland in its approach to e-cigarettes for years. Indeed, the country intends to align itself with the European Union by enacting new rules for e-cigarettes, now considered as a simple tobacco product.
STRICT E-CIGARETTE REGULATIONS IN SWITZERLAND?
Sale prohibited to those under 18, consumption prohibited in closed spaces accessible to the public and limitation of advertising: electronic cigarettes, with or without nicotine, will be subject to the same requirements as conventional cigarettes. The Swiss Parliament is currently examining the new Law on Tobacco Products and wanted to include all the alternatives available on the market: e-cigarettes, heated tobacco and snus.
The two Chambers still have important differences to settle before approving the project, but they have already rejected all attempts to exclude electronic cigarettes from these new constraints. They thus followed the European Union, which decreed in 2014. a series of requirements regarding the composition, warnings and advertising of e-cigarettes.
The new law equates e-cigarettes with tobacco products, which specialists in the field regret. " It is a substitute device which is approximately 95% less harmful than a normal cigarette, relieves

For its part, Addiction Switzerland is in principle in favor of differentiated regulation between e-cigarettes and other tobacco products, but only if all those containing nicotine are taxed, the prices of products that burn or heat tobacco increase massively, and the advertising is prohibited, that the packages are neutral and that the help to stop smoking is reinforced.
