TUNISIA: Awaiting regulation on electronic cigarettes.

In Tunisia, a working meeting took place on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 between the president of the association of electronic cigarettes to stop smoking (ACEAF) Khaled Haddad and the director general of the National Board of Tobacco and Matches (RNTA), Sami Ben Jannet during which the two leaders mentioned the difficulties encountered in the sector.

RESOLVING THE LEGAL PROBLEM RELATED TO THE SALE OF E-CIGARETTES

ACEAF has announced that it has presented proposals to the director of RNTA that will put an end to the difficulties encountered. For his part, the director of the RNTA expressed his desire to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.

In addition, Sami Ben Jannet asked ACEAF to provide him with a report detailing the current situation in the vaping market. It should be remembered that the association of electronic cigarettes to stop smoking (ACEAF) calls for a resolution of the legal problem linked to the sale of electronic cigarettes in Tunisia.

The sale of vaping products is subject to the monopoly of the RNTA, which has increased the sale outside the legal circuit. ACEAF has assured that several studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of this alternative to stop smoking.
