In Tunisia, the Minister of Health has presented to the government presidency a new bill to ban smoking. This project contains several measures including the ban on the sale of tobacco in detail for less than 18 years.

According to this bill, the sale of tobacco should be prohibited in the perimeters of schools and hospitals.

The ban on smoking would also concern cafés, restaurants and public spaces, according to this new project, said to Mosaique fm Rafla Tej, Project Manager in the Office of the Minister of Health.


THE KICK OFF OF "YAKFI", AN ANTI-TOBACCO CAMPAIGN


The kick-off of the national campaign to fight against smoking was given this Thursday 28 December, under the sign « Yakfi“, Announces the Ministry of Health. This campaign aims to generalize the national anti-smoking program (Mobile Tobacco Cessation), through the use of mobile phones, by accompanying smokers over six weeks in order to help them, and to take care of them during all stages of the process. smoking cessation. 

Launched by the Minister of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), this action is the first axis of the project to promote health through modern technologies , according to the same department. 

The Minister of Health,  Imed Hammami, announced, for the circumstance, that a new project of amendment of the anti-smoking law in public places would be submitted to the presidency of the government. It comprises " many measures to combat this scourge, causing serious diseases
